Collaboration and Teamwork:
The Women’s Fund Coalition Members
The primary goal of the coalition is to work to eliminate health disparities and increase health literacy within the identified populations, women who are minorities and are of low socioeconomic status, utilizing collaborative and evidence-based strategies.
The coalition members’ work together to strengthen and expand agencies’ ability to affect these health disparities.
To reach this goal, The Women’s Fund connects health professionals and health students to agencies and offer presentations and/or develops culturally appropriate health promotion materials. We provide specialized training to the staff and volunteers to our coalition members and our community partners. All agency presenters receive an orientation and facilitation tips, and/or tools that facilitate interactive learning. Funding in the form of a stipend may be available to agencies or presenters.
Coalition members commit to attending six meetings during the one-year commitment, with the possibility of extending into 2012, contingent upon funding. In addition, members commit to attending three presentations on issues of eliminating health disparities during 2011, sponsored by The Women’s Fund.
Participation is free of charge.
